Dixie Forum to discuss finding true joy in life

Addressing how to evaluate true success, Life Coach and Motivational Speaker Cindy Clemens will present at the next installment of Dixie State University’s weekly lecture series Dixie Forum: A Window on the World. Clemens’ lecture, “Embrace Joy This Year,” is presented in partnership with the Dixie State University Women’s Resource Center. The forum is set to take place at noon on Sept. 25 in the Dunford Auditorium of the Browning Resource Center, located on the Dixie State campus. Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to attend. Clemens has adopted the motto, “Injoy Life,” and in her address, she will speak on the assertion that true success in life is not about power, money or belongings. Instead, it is about how much joy individuals experience each and every day, Clemens says. She will describe her own process of listening to her wise inner voice, connecting with her true passions and talents, conquering her fears and self-doubts, and creating a life and business she loves. Specifically, she will help listeners create their own recipe for joy by embracing joy in six key areas of life and creating a joy-focus list for each season. Clemens graduated from Occidental College in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and went on to graduate from the law school at the University of California. She practiced law for 13 years before realizing she was ready for significant life changes. Since then, Clemens graduated from Coaching U and found her way to southern Utah, where she has established her own private coaching practice serving southern Utah and Las Vegas. She is part of a team of presenters affiliated with Intermountain Healthcare’s Live Well Brain Fitness program and has published the book “Life is a Do-Over: You Can Choose a New Path in Life.” Dixie Forum is a weekly lecture series designed to introduce the St. George and DSU communities to diverse ideas and personalities while widening their worldviews via a 50-minute presentation. In its next installment, Dixie Forum will host the Dixie Water Color Society  at noon on Oct. 2 in the Dunford Auditorium.
